カクカタレリの第二弾シングル『夏の宵の夢』は、2016年に没後400年を迎えたイギリスのルネサンス期を代表する劇作家・詩人シェイクスピアの作品「夏の夜の夢」で語られた名台詞を組み合わせ、新たな歌詞の世界を織り上げた恋の歌。 落ち着き中にも切なさを含んだ中世ヨーロッパの教会旋法の一つドリア旋法(ドリアン・スケール)を旋律の下地に、“プログレッシブ・ロック”的要素を随所に絡めつつ、華麗な弦楽四重奏の響きとハードなリフを刻むギター、ベース、ドラムの３ピースが融合したサウンドが、スピード感溢れるドラマティックな作品を展開。

The 2nd tune of KAKU KATARERI "Natsu no Yoi no Yume - A Midsummer Evening Dream -". The composition of this song is founded on Dorian mode which is one of Gregorian modes. The sound is basically arranged like 70's progressive rock partly using irregular meter but also has the taste of Audio-Oriented Rock. To mix the timbre of power trio (guitar, bass and drums) with chamber music, we use the string quartet. The lyrics sung in Japanese are improvised from famous aphoristic lines of the drama "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare.
