The Music of Ultima by RoosterCastille published on 2014-07-30T21:40:17Z This playlist is about a decade old now! All of the Ultima covers, originals and derivatives on Soundcloud deserve to be discovered by the fans looking for them. As it stands, it is difficult to find some of them even if you remember the title and artist. So I invite you all to share them to me when you find them. You may share this playlist anywhere you like. The rights to each song file belong to the individuals who posted it, and/or the musicians who composed, performed, and produced it, and/or the owners of the individual games and soundtracks and the Ultima IP. New music belongs to the composers, performers, and/or producers and labels. If you're a fan of any of the Ultima games, I highly suggest you look up the Ultima Dragons! It's a mostly online group of people who may all have a lot in common with you! Major presence on Discord and a Facebook Group but there are Dragon spots on lots of sites. There are events, meetups, and lots of folks share their fan projects and in-development video games. The Dragons love to hear new covers and remixes of Ultima music! There are a few redundant tracks here and for now we're keeping them because so many drop off SC over time. If you've got alternate versions of the official scores because you worked in the music production teams or the orchestra, we're a little more interested in that stuff than in re-ups of the official released tracks. What do we do when/if EA sells the Ultima IP? Chances are if you re-uploaded an original track, it may get taken down. However if the rights were to revert to LB I think he is a little more generous about this type of thing. If you've uploaded a cover or remix, you should be fine, regardless of how the IP sale goes. What to do if you get a takedown request? If you've uploaded official soundtrack material, you should take it down. Do not get yourself into trouble. If you are concerned about the track's availability online, other mirrors probably exist or can exist. I highly suggest you bring it up with the Ultima Dragons, there are lots of techies and experts who may be able to help you. "Can I suggest music from other games?" Unless it's the Kilrathi theme or Greensleeves or Spanish Lady or Rule Britannia, chances are I'm not going to add it to this list. If you have iconic tracks from gaming ages past that you want preserved or you want to contribute to the general enthusiast community, lots of folks on SC have their own VGM playlists! You can make your own and share it. If it's a game that is basically nowhere on the web, you can probably put it up on a few different archival spaces. There are FB Groups for fans of various older platforms where people may be able to give you specific sites or pages that their communities use, like sites that are specifically for video games released on Apple-II or soundtracks that were built for specific 80s soundcards. There are a lot of older games that are literally nowhere online, so if you have that stuff, you should find the right place for it.
