There’s a song that keeps knocking: Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. It’s about a climb, yes—but mostly an inner one. That moment when you feel something shifting inside and you can’t pretend anymore. Gabriel wrote it after leaving Genesis: success, safety, a clear place in the world. Yet he felt he had to go, without knowing where. “My heart going boom boom boom” is that vibration in your stomach when you realize you’re about to jump. Not because you’re ready, but because staying would hurt more. To me, it means this: either you make music for real, or you don’t. You’re not obliged to stay where you’re recognized or comfortable. “Home” isn’t a place—it’s alignment. Growing isn’t becoming better. It’s becoming truer.

C’è una canzone che ogni tanto torna a bussare: Solsbury Hill di Peter Gabriel. Parla di una salita, sì, ma soprattutto interiore. È il momento in cui senti che qualcosa dentro di te sta cambiando e non puoi più far finta di niente. Gabriel la scrive dopo aver lasciato i Genesis: successo, sicurezza, un ruolo chiaro. Eppure sente che deve andare, senza sapere dove. “My heart going boom boom boom” è quella vibrazione nello stomaco quando capisci che stai per saltare. Non perché sei pronto, ma perché restare farebbe più male. Per me è questo: o fai musica davvero, oppure lasci stare. Non sei obbligato a restare dove ti riconoscono o dove sei comodo. “Home” non è un luogo: è allineamento. Crescere non è diventare più bravi, ma più veri.
