The second half is aftermath. Sleep disappears. Allies become risks. Nothing explodes — everything persists. The real horror isn’t exposure, but attention that won’t move. The modern “damned spot” isn’t blood — it’s the fear that something will trend if you touch it, deny it, explain it, or even look away.
