Having earned a solid footing in the drum and bass scene since its inception in 2018, Perth-based label ProtoCode now looks to conquer the house and techno market with its brand-new imprint, ProtoHouse, which debuts this October with the four-track compilation EP Horizons.

Boasting a one-of-a-kind roster of chiefly local talents including Noir Sur Blanc signee Boy In Nature, ascendant 3000 Bass affiliate Old Sport, local newcomer Leo Miller and multi-genre aficionado Loboski, ProtoHouse looks set to put some new names on listeners’ radars from the outset, while continuing to uphold the carefully curated approach of its sister label.

Tech house banger I'm Movin' from Old Sport, finds bustling basslines,
acid-inspired synth work and glitched-out rhythmic furnishings coming together to make for a juggernaut of a track. With ample progression throughout the track including a heavier passage audibly inspired by bass house, it’s a triumph of a debut from the emerging producer.

The Horizons EP hits Traxsource and Spotify on 15 October 2021, arriving elsewhere a fortnight later on 29 October 2021.
