Model motion: Renationalise and rebuild the NHS by Proletarian Radio

For decades, successive governments have implemented measures aimed at undermining public health provision and turning the nation’s health budget into a funding stream for private corporations. As a result, workers pay more every year while receiving less, services are dangerously understaffed, medical staff are chronically overworked, patients deteriorate and die on waiting lists, and those who can afford to do so are forced to turn to the private sector to obtain treatment.

Note to trade unionists: This text has been compiled to help you frame a motion on this topic to your union branch or annual congress. Feel free to take as much or as little as you deem suitable, depending on the rules operating in your organisation, and to choose from or adapt the final demands depending on the sector in which you work.

Remember that any points you leave out of the motion itself can always be brought into your speech in support of the motion.
