Year 2 Creative Portfolio.
It is inspired by a guitar-centred electroacoustic piece, where the guitar is almost unrecognisable in the early stages of the track, but as it develops, the guitar’s characteristics can be gradually heard. I used this idea as a starting point to create a piece based on the sound of the piano.
All of the sounds in the piece used sampling techniques and were recorded in live room 2, including playing single notes, plucking strings, scraping the strings back and forth with cotton-wrapped drumsticks, and slapping the strings.
