Problem Dog makes music for anyone who’s afraid that, in that final moment, all they’ll see is a series of identical memories that blur into a bleak portrait of a life well wasted. In 2014, three childhood friends (Eric Green, Lucy Broom, and Garrett Smart) established Problem Dog as the next chapter in their shared musical journey after playing together throughout high school and early adulthood. The band spent their first two years playing house shows and DIY spaces all over Central California before releasing their self-produced EP, “Old News” in 2016, and following it up nine months later with “EP2”. Earnest and devastating, Problem Dog’s music grapples with difficult topics like depression and suicidality with painfully honest lyrics and hard hitting instrumentation. Each vocalists and songwriters in their own right, the band’s members weave melodies and harmonies together into a tapestry of melancholy and angst, with most songs being written and led by Green.
