Cenizas by Patricio Padua published on 2019-12-01T18:24:16Z The title track from Berta Corzo, Cenizas. A private press family affair; my mother-in-law’s aunt, Berta Corzo, wrote these songs in Cuba but never recorded them. Her daughter Lourdes Menendez, who’s not a professional singer, performed them here (accompanied by a pianist) at the urging of her son. The tree pictured on the cover (that’s Berta’s niece Violetta next to it) was a beloved family tree back in Pica Pica. Genre Latin
