OMO9JA AKA DJBUJA OMO9JA DJ BUJA Albany/ georgia DJ Buja is a Lagos-born, London-raised club and radio DJ, who specialises in a mix of underground UK, US and African club sounds. Moving to London from Nigeria as a child, DJ Buja was raised on a rich musical diet of Nigerian afrobeat, highlife and traditional styles; underground UK flavors from jungle & drum 'n' bass through to UK garage, grime and dubstep; Caribbean sounds from reggae and dancehall to calypso and soca; and American hip hop, R 'n' B, and dance music. DJ Buja's unique and energetic playing style draws on all of these varied musical influences. Whilst his current sound is mainly all about uptempo, bass-heavy, underground UK garage, in all it's forms from 4x4 and 2-step to grime and dubstep, he does also enjoy flexing some different styles when the crowd is ready for it! DJ Buja has pushed his bass-heavy, forward-thinking selection on the London club circuit for the last 7 years, holding down residencies at London nightspots Departure (formerly the Market Bar), the Paradise Bar and Cube, and also playing at underground parties such as 'Afrocentric', 'In Stereo' and his own promotion 'The Vibe'.
