In this episode, we sit down with Shaun Sever, a US veteran and nurse who transitioned into nursing after her retirement from the military.

Shaun's nursing career began in homecare and medical-surgical roles, but it was in the ER, where she served both adults and children for over a decade, that she truly found her calling.

Passionate about helping people, Shaun loved the fast-paced and impactful environment of the emergency room.

However, after experiencing burnout in the traditional hospital setting, she sought a new way to continue practicing nursing that would allow her to avoid the stress of the ER while still making a difference.

Today, Shaun is the founder of SPLNC (Sever Professional Legal Nurse Consulting), where she provides a range of services, including IVs, injections, and legal nurse consulting.

Operating from the comfort of her own home, Shaun leverages her experience and network of contracted professionals to assist with legal nurse consulting services in various areas, such as workers' compensation cases, personal injury, medical negligence, and more.

She credits much of her success to her ability to market her services continuously, particularly through social media, to stay competitive in the legal nurse consulting (LNC) field.

Shaun emphasizes the importance of persistence in building a successful LNC business. Even with just a handful of attorneys, it’s possible to establish a steady stream of work.
