Hopeless with Erik Edman by Noreen Murphy published on 2026-01-13T15:19:45Z I had a lovely chat with a Greek/Swedish filmmaker/political activist, Erik Edman. He and his friend Davide Cesário Castro were feeling hopeless, and our conversation is about what they are learning, and what they are doing about it. They are making a documentary. HOPELESS. Hopeless follows them on a motorbike journey of winding roads, compelling chats, and hopeless film-making, in this exploration of what Europeans think about the world they live in, and how – or if – there is any hope of changing it. Erik Edman is a Greek-Swedish political activist and strategist, known for his prominent roles within the pan-European movement Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25) and its Greek electoral wing, MeRA25, serving as Political Director and campaign manager for progressive, anti-austerity, and anti-militaristic causes, advocating for a democratic European Union. We discuss losing hope with politics....and getting it back..
