Best known as the founder, curator, and president of the legendary Decibel Festival, Sean’s influence runs deep—so much so that Rolling Stone named him the 43rd most influential figure in EDM.
Founded in 2003, Decibel Festival evolved into a groundbreaking platform, seamlessly blending live electronic performance, cutting-edge multimedia art, and state-of-the-art sound design. Over its 12-year run, the five-day festival drew an annual audience of 25,000+, transforming Seattle into an epicenter of sonic and visual exploration. Beyond the festival, Decibel Presents has curated a vast spectrum of experiences—from underground club nights to international festival stages—cementing Sean’s reputation as a tastemaker and champion of boundary-pushing artists.
But Sean’s impact isn’t confined to the curatorial realm. Under the moniker Nordic Soul, he has carved out his own sonic identity as a DJ, producer, composer, and live performer, seamlessly blending elements of techno, house, hip-hop, jazz, soul, industrial, ambient, and dub. His deep musical knowledge and ability to read a crowd have earned him slots alongside icons like Four Tet, Moby, Major Lazer, Richie Hawtin, Grimes, Ben Klock, Maceo Plex, Moodymann, Duke Dumont, Modeselektor, DARKSIDE, Boys Noize, Trentemoller, Green Velvet, Moderat, The Orb, DJ Tennis, as well as performances at Movement (Detroit), MUTEK (Montreal), Dimensions (Croatia), Desert Hearts (SoCal), and Decibel (Seattle).
Splitting his time between Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, Sean helms Golden Hour Oasis Studios (GHOSt)—a creative sanctuary dedicated to fostering innovative music and multimedia projects. In early 2025, after a transformative songwriting workshop with Brian Eno, he unveiled two bold new recording projects: Calico Dusk (Electronic Pop / Indie Dance) and THROT (Noise / Experimental / Soundtrack).
