BLOOD RHYTHMS SIDE A EXCERPT by NO PART OF IT published on 2010-12-30T18:37:37Z http://www.tediumhouse.com/artists/blood-rhythms On October 28th, 2008, 5 people convened inside an inactive meat locker and recorded acoustic brass/woodwind instrumentation with 2 Coronets, a Trumpet, a Saxophone, and a Baritone Horn. These sessions were recorded with a mini disc recorder in 3 corners of the room and one connected to a mic stand near the door. The improvisations included each artist taking turns blowing through a 15 foot long pipe, a moment where everyone placed their respective horn directly against the metal walls at the same time, causing reverberations in unison, and various line ups with horns directly placed against horns, occasionally exchanging spit. For over an hour, Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, BLOODIEST, Circle of Animals), Brian Klein (Machinist, Names), Dave Purdie (Silver Abuse, Satan2000), Andy Ortmann (Panicsville) and Arvo Zylo recorded experiments with placement and acoustics inside of this meat locker. Later, Arvo painstakingly composed 2 sides for a prospective LP with several layers and angles of this source material. At times, there are more than 66 layers of samples going at once. No effects were used in the composition process. The at times bombastic or otherwise foreboding results were mastered by Zach Adams (BKPR, Verdant), with an emphasis on having no additional effects added.
