This tree keeps on standing
It was here when Mozart was a boy
For birds, it’s a home
And for squirrels that run, jump and roam
It’s a playground and a big adventurous toy

This tree keeps on standing
Through the years, it’s been my friend
I was ten when mama died
And I sat here and cried and cried
And this tree gave me hope and helped me mend

Sunshine and rain
Blizzard and hurricane
Unwavering, it braves them one by one
It never gives up
Never gives in
It’s always growing, reaching for the sun

This tree keeps on standing
So proud, resolute and true
Sturdy and strong
Unafraid it faces what comes along
