(Sometimes, Voiceless, Violet) by Natalie Moller published on 2013-02-23T01:35:10Z (Sometimes, Voiceless, Violet) - triptych for flute, viola, & cello By Natalie Moller, 2012 Performance: University of Michigan, Feb 18th 2013 Nadine Dyskant-Miller, flute Austin Han, viola James Perretta, cello What is the touch of infrequency — the taste of unmouthed words — the texture of color? From a score of unmarked time, the players reconstruct the silhouette of the framework, the surface of the soundscape ever in flux from one performance to the next. Ink becomes sound becomes thought, transmutable by perception and intent (the landscape is always changing). (Sometimes, Voiceless, Violet) was written for the SMTD @ UMMA "Nomenclature" installation event, in response to the term "texture."
