Nashville Phil’s Panhead Hydra Glide is a wryly affectionate nod to the genre. With its references to Marlon Brando & Lee Marvin in The Wild One, and to the totemic Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by hell-bound womaniser Jump In Jim, the narrative unfolds with gripping inevitability. A blistering groove powered by kit drums, rockabilly bass and cranked up telecaster, this is one super-hot recording by one helluva band.
