Orquidea is a Registered Diversional and Recreational therapist and current president of the New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapists Inc. She is a national consultant in the use of models of care with a strong focus on therapeutic recreation, human rights, and non-pharmacological approaches in aged care, community health, mental health, and the disability sectors. She has a strong passion for therapeutic recreation for prevention and rehabilitation and global leadership in therapeutic recreation.
