J.J. Staley Music J.J. Staley Petawawa J.J. Staley has been writing music since the age of thirteen after receiving his first guitar from his father. Though attracted to punk music in his early days, he was always fascinated by musicians like Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, and Willie P. Bennett. After serving in the Canadian forces for 12 years, he took up writing again in 2011 and hasn’t stopped since. Releasing his first full length album “Tales from the Lake” with his band The Murder by the Lake Band in 2015, he is now on the solo track with his latest albums “Wildflower” and “The Lost Tapes”.
