ephemera by Monkey Puzzle Orchestra

Formed in 1999, The Monkey Puzzle Orchestra has released six albums over the last 15 years. The most recent, Ephemera highlights the Orchestra’s idiosyncratic blend of world music and freeform jazz, with elements of progressive rock and trance-inspired electronics. Featuring multi-instrumentalists Doug Banner (flutes, keyboards, African hunter’s harp, percussion, etc.) and John D’Onofrio (basses, keyboards, Indonesian gamelan, flute, percussion, etc.), the new recording also includes Joe Jowdy (keyboards, percussion), David MacLeod (flugelhorn, cornet, etc.) and Ted Rosen (guitars, bass, and keyboards). The Bellingham, WA-based Orchestra has performed at numerous festivals and other venues in the Pacific Northwest and created music for a variety of films.
