Message From The Evolving Synth by Max Sussani published on 2025-02-25T10:30:09Z I used some factory presets, a couple of TSOM presets (1 Pad) and DR (1 Kick), and modified many presets, especially to create a drum kit. This was a really tough challenge because I still have a lot to learn about synths in general, and this synth, despite being truly beautiful, is very complicated for me. I have to thank The Sound of Merlin, CrazyIvan, NeverBeeenInARiot, and Taron (also for the tutorials, thanks to which I somehow managed to create some presets) for their patience, moral and technical support. I received really great advice 😊 The Morse code says: -- .- -.-- / - .... . / .-- .- ...- . ... / -... . / .-- .. - .... / -.-- --- ..- 😊 DAW Studio One 7 Synth Six Sines x 43 tracks (+1 bounced) Plugins: Pro EQ (Studio One) Compressor (Studio One) Panagement 2 Ozone Imager 2 Trailbender Adc Spread Delay Magic 7 Raum LoudMax Youlean Loudness Meter Genre Synthwave Comment by JXSXNSKX Cool morris code and radio static effect. 2025-03-15T22:29:41Z Comment by JXSXNSKX I really dig that snare! 2025-03-15T22:29:09Z Comment by Taronium Yeah, brings back memories from my teenage years. Super pleasant! 2025-03-15T22:24:48Z Comment by ontrackp The background chords are very nice. I feel like the entire song would have benefitted from a faster tempo, or get faster as it went to create more of a sense of urgency which would work well with the chords. It feels kind of laid back. 2025-03-12T20:31:27Z Comment by ontrackp I like the hi bleeping. 2025-03-12T20:29:04Z Comment by z.prime I really liked the first part these delay-based intertwining melodies were introduced, but it seems like there could have been something more added to make this section more full/final. maybe adding some even more full synthwave chords or changing them up somehow? anyway, still a fun composition to listen to 2025-03-12T18:20:51Z Comment by Empty Castle This part is my favorite, although the whole thing is so rich in ideas. 2025-03-11T14:37:37Z Comment by The Sound of Merlin This track has great elements and ideas but at 3/4 it starts to drag a bit. Maybe it is the drum part ? 2025-03-09T10:00:25Z Comment by The Sound of Merlin Very much 80s vibe! 2025-03-09T09:58:58Z Comment by Seap I am a sucker for synthwave riffs. I find that the tempo is a bit on the slow side. It suits the Alan Parson arp well, but a tempo change for the rest would have been cool. Nice bass. 2025-03-06T17:06:43Z Comment by SoulWerX As for me, you did a good job! Keep on going... :) 2025-03-05T11:47:56Z Comment by SilverPants the arpeggio at the start reminds me of Save A Prayer by Duran Duran. in a good way. 2025-03-04T14:19:13Z Comment by Seap nice bassline and synth stabs 2025-03-03T15:12:45Z Comment by Seap Exciting intro. I love mystery easter eggs like this. 2025-03-03T15:08:15Z Comment by A.Liv Again, real nice track otherwise! 2025-03-02T16:53:10Z Comment by A.Liv This may be more a matter of taste, but I think it would've been nice if the bassline accented the chord changes here. 2025-03-02T16:52:51Z Comment by A.Liv Nice break. The bass that comes in after it, to my ears, feels a bit... absent, mostly due to the stereo width. I think layering it with a non-unison sub (just a sine with some feedback or something) would've made it feel a lot more present and bassy without needing to be very much louder. 2025-03-02T16:51:56Z Comment by A.Liv The flute that comes in here is very nice. I would've turned the main ostinato down here (maybe entirely, and fade it in in the breaks in the flute melody) to make room for it, and create some more dynamics/variance. 2025-03-02T16:48:00Z Comment by A.Liv The hi-hat is panned very hard left here. I wouldn't have put it quite so far out if I didn't have a similar short bright element to put on the other side. It could work on some speaker setups, but in mono it dissappears, and on headphones the it creates an experience of "lopsidedness" which gets weirdly tiring over time. 2025-03-02T16:46:23Z Comment by A.Liv This is a really nice track overall: The ideas sit well in the style, there's some really nice transitions, and a good overall structure. As a composition it's great. Where it could be improved is mostly in the mix (and maybe slightly in arrangement, though that may be more subjective). I'll leave a few specific mix comments. Great track, well done! 2025-03-02T16:42:15Z Comment by DoctorBob Love rhythms built with the delay. Bass sound is impressive and drives the track beautifully. 2025-02-27T20:24:45Z Comment by SilverPants it's an excellent snare. 2025-02-27T12:03:48Z Comment by SilverPants the tight 70s drums with the arpeggio reminds me of Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project - in a pleasing way. 2025-02-27T12:03:37Z Comment by SilverPants nice bass sound. works tight with the kick. 2025-02-27T11:36:46Z
