Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) by Lola Parks published on 2018-10-07T05:18:35Z "I did my best it wasn't much. I couldn't feel so I tried to touch. I told the truth, I didn't come to fool you. And even though it all went wrong I stand before the Lord of song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah." A dear friend passed away this week. There's a group of us friends that go back 20 years. One of those friends (Leigh) used to sing this on Mondays at Steamers Pub where we all collected pretty much nightly for an easy decade. I used to add harmonies quietly from the sound booth. It was our second home. It was an era that lives on in our hearts and music and smiles. Live music seven nights a week. Musicians and bartenders. Lately I've been doing this one solo. And I'm going to sing it at our dear friend's service next weekend. After I cried a bunch this evening, I of course felt a need to sing and play. It's hard and it hurts and this song reminds me of the good ol' nights and Jeff Buckley and great music and great friends that no time in between can really separate you or make you forget. I am sad but grateful. C# this is for you. Genre Folk & Singer-Songwriter
