1.13 ජාත්‍යන්තර ගීතය - The Internationale - சர்வதேசம் by Dr Lionel Bopage

The Internationale was written to celebrate the Paris Commune of March-May 1871
The original L'Internationale in French
Lyrics: Eugène Pottier (1871)
Music: Pierre De Geyter (1888)

In 1978, I did the Sinhala translation from its original French (L'Internationale) and German (Die Internationale) versions. It was recorded the same year.
Vocals - Lionel Bopage, Sunila Abeysekera and the Group
Music - Late Sena Weerasekera, State Music Director of Radio Ceylon (The top Music Maestro of the land at the time, Dr Premasiri Khemadasa refused our (Sunila and I) request to compose music for this song. It was due to his pro-Peking political leanings.
