Kingfisher on a mountain river - Tatra Mountains by Krzysztof Wojciechowski Stoop

Sitting in hiding and waiting for a kingfisher, I probably intuitively placed the microphones under a bush growing on the bank of a mountain river.

Hidden nearby under camouflage netting, I waited for the dippers.

I did not expect the kingfisher from the photo to sit right above the microphones.

These birds are decimated in winter by the difficult living conditions in the mountains. This winter, it seems that the lack of snow is helping them a lot.
