Diary of a Jackrabbit Homesteader | Desert X 2021 by kstringfellow published on 2021-02-16T03:08:09Z Audioscape collaboration between musician/artist/author Jim White, singer/songwriter Claire Campbell and artist Kim Stringfellow. Audio tour producer Tim Halbur contributed sound design. Excerpts are from Catherine Venn Peterson's (1901-2002) six-part Desert Magazine series published during 1950 chronicling her Small Tract homesteading experience in Palm Desert, California. Catherine's literary impressions are brought to life by Campbell, accompanied by Jim White’s original score. This program is part of a site-specific art installation by Kim Stringfellow commissioned for Desert X 2021. The cabin is on public view at The Station in Joshua Tree for an extended stay during summer 2021. I would say more but am starting to babble now. thank you Kim Stringfellow and friends for what sounds wonderful and I hope will be a even better experience in person......... 2021-03-25T13:15:34Z
