The New Year's Queue (Piano Miniature) by Konrad Spittelberg

This is a teaser for my upcoming first vocal song which will be published on December 6, 2024. Yeah, finally I will do lyrics:-)
The inspiration for this came last when I was shopping for our New Years Party - as always on the last day and as always all the people in Vienna had the same idea. As I stood in the queue, I imagined how things could escalate if would let my anger loose. Just hypothetically, of course. Hope, you enjoy the result and will listen into the vocal version on Dec 6.
Compositionwise, the track has a boogie structure with the left hand chromatically going up and an octavating thumb like in c0-c1-d0-c1-es0-c1-g0-c1. The right hand strongly uses syncopes to instill the rhythm onto the track. Slight variations in the rhythm keep the tension like, e.g. comparing the very beginning with 0:45 ff. The track is mostly being in the modes I, IV and V (C, F, G).
Over time, the mood of the piece changes from relaxed and happy to ever more tense with a final relieve at the end.
