The Kelfar Omega Kanun stands out with its unique acoustic feel, meticulously preserved through specialized deep sampling techniques and advanced microphone setups. The EXs 252 includes both Anatolian (a.k.a Turkish Kanun) and Aleppian (a.k.a Arabic Kanun) kanuns. The kanun is an ancient instrument commonly performed across the Mediterranean region. Each region performs the kanun with the local micro-tonal tuning system. In general, the difference in the types of kanun for each region is slight. For example, the octave for the Allepian kanun starts from octave G2 (Sol2) to the highest note D6 (Re6), and the Anatolian kanun begins from octave A2 (La2) to the highest E5 (Mi5).
