Kathleen Kim Kathleen Kim Los Angeles Kathleen Kim is an experimental musician and composer with a background in improvisation, avant jazz and classical theories. Her solo work primarily uses extended violin and voice to create musical abstractions that provoke shared human emotions and experiences. Kathleen's current collaborative projects include avant jazz chamber ensemble LA Fog and experimental duo SheKhan. She has performed in a wide range of music and art contexts including the openings of the 2012 Whitney Biennial and the 2017 Venice Biennale in Dawn Kasper's Nomadic Studio. She studied with Yusef Lateef and Jim Nadel, and has collaborated with a diverse group of improv musicians and sound artists.
