About the dandies in pop-music, by Michel Catalo : "But it is they who use with elegance and humor, with class our motifs of despair and evident fatigue to craft something that resembles the forms they employ, that is something elegant, smiling, a little desperate and classy. I am actually talking a lot more about dandies than about decadent authors. Julien, you're a dandy and we like it."
"Cerf, Biche & Faon" by Julien Gasc, first solo album of a member of Aquaserge. He played with Stereolab, Laetitia Sadier, Philippe Katerine, April March, Bertrand Burgalat, Hyperclean, Holden, Momotte,... Recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder, "Cerf, Biche et Faon" has some of the elements of the future classic album to be reedited in 20 years time. Because it grows out of format, completely outsider, very personal and incredibly universal. A high fidelity lo-fi album.
"What I tried to achieve for the album was to record every track directly, from the beginning to the end of the song, one-shots, one-takes, to keep the crudest spurts, I wanted to do as little editing as possible".
