The Alien Logs of Super Jewels: A New Musical by Josh Freilich published on 2018-11-24T17:37:42Z THE ALIEN LOGS OF SUPER JEWELS A New Musical Book and Additional Lyrics by BK BRADSHAW Music and Lyrics by JOSH FREILICH Based on the award-winning novel by BK BRADSHAW Picture this: your first day in middle school after five years of elementary. What is this strange new world you’ve been transported to? Where did the Mothership transport you today? Who is this new teacher telling you about things that immediately go right over your head? How is this going to help you in the real world? Why does everything seem so easy for everyone else? The time is now, the place is a town very much like your own. Through her “Alien Logs,” 12-year-old Jewels wants to know the mystery: could she be an alien, a superhero, or something completely different? Set to an energetic, original pop-rock score, this show will follow Jewels as she seeks for answers to these questions, and finds a little bit of herself along the way. The show will explore the theme of Neurodiversity: a concept where neurological differences are to be recognized and respected as any other human variation. Aimed at families, especially those with children who are of any neurodiverse persuasion, this show hopes to follow on the heels of plays like The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time which discuss the autism spectrum in great detail, and explore this sensitive subject in a daring new musical medium.
