The founder of the Barnes Foundation, Albert Barnes, brought art to the masses. He was a scientist, an inventor, and a philanthropist who recognized art from all over the world well before such art was accepted widely. Albert Barnes used the wealth generated by his medicinal invention to personally curate his museum and reach everyone especially those who worked for him.
