"Sounds Unheard 2012-2022" is an assemblage of recordings (from its earliest iteration to the present day) of the forward-thinking jazz group, the Chicago-based Joe Policastro Trio. Led by bassist Joe Policastro and featuring guitarist Dave Miller and drummer Mikel Avery, it’s comprised of unused material from the band’s four previous releases ("West Side Story Suite", "POPS!", "Screen Sounds", "Nothing Here Belongs") and additional material done for specialty recording projects.

With the exception of one original, the material highlights the trio’s ability to remake unlikely songs of all types and genres in its own raw, highly idiosyncratic fashion. These snapshots of a band developing over a decade also show a continuity of style and approach that continues to this day.
