The 7th-Floor Studio Organ Of Radio City Music Hall - Ray Bohr, Organist - 1960 by Joe Peterzak published on 2014-08-10T22:07:49Z 3/14 Wurlitzer SN #2180 The 7th-floor organ studio in the Radio City Music Hall building was a whopping 100' X 65' with 30' ceilings and had superb acoustics throughout. This spectacular room was originally built by NBC as a rehearsal space for ArturoToscanini and his symphony orchestra in the 1930’s at a cost of over $500,000. It was later used as an NBC radio broadcast studio and as a rehearsal space for the Radio City Music Hall organists when the 3/14 Wurlitzer #2180 was installed there. The seventh floor, which housed the organ studio, was suspended on steel springs and cork in order to acoustically isolate it from the Radio City Music Hall below.
