jobsounds Cyrus Fisher Waynesboro Job is a funeral doom metal, sludge, and drone project from Waynesboro, VA that began in 2008. In the beginning, there was no specific genre in mind for the music other than simply doom. Job’s first track, “Nascentes Morimur,” was actually more along the lines of ambient black metal with only a few doom ideas thrown in. This track was originally a bit over 20 minutes in length and appeared (in a much condensed version) on Sullen Records’ “Revelations Vol. 1: A Light In A Dark Place.” The second track, “Post Tenebras Spero Lucem,” was a much larger step in the general direction of doom, though it was much more noise-oriented than the material Job is currently writing. That and a track written in 2009 entitled “Coram Deo” were released as free digital downloads-only. “Coram Deo” appeared on a sampler put out by the Doom Metal Alliance at the end of 2009. In 2010 Job signed to Barren Meadows Recordings and completed an EP entitled “A Psalm for the First Cause and Final Refuge." jobsounds’s tracks Coram Deo by jobsounds published on 2010-04-19T05:22:40Z A Psalm for the First Cause and Last Refuge by jobsounds published on 2010-04-19T05:12:47Z
