Born and bred in Blackpool, and taking inspiration from a wide and eclectic pool of influences, Jekyll's music is known for its expansive, melancholic soundscapes, dynamic mood shifts and visceral intensity. Through sincere introspection, Jekyll's songs tackle themes such as grief, love, obsession, dissociation, inner darkness, and OCD, with poetic honesty and vulnerability. While appearing at The Great Escape Festival 2018, Jekyll were signed on the spot by the prestigious ‘Fierce Panda’ (Coldplay, Placebo, Keane etc.) immediately after stepping off the stage. Jekyll released a string of successful singles, which were all championed by Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Jack Saunders (Radio 1), Daniel P Carter (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (Radio 6), John Kennedy (Radio X). In addition to this, Jekyll were invited to record a live session for BBC Radio 1/Huw Stephens in London’s legendary Maida Vale Studios, with the production team there remarking that it was the best session they’d seen all year! Jekyll were included in Huw Stephens’ ‘Best Of The Year’ show in 2019 and had their session named ‘Best of 2019’! The band have already played SXSW, YNot, The Great Escape, Focus Wales, and Liverpool Sound City.
