Javier Areal Vélez Javier Areal Vélez Buenos Aires Javier Areal Vélez (Buenos Aires, 1985) is an experimental musician, sound artist and cultural manager. His recent solo work explores live electronic music through layered (poly)rhythmic systems and human–machine collaboration using samples, synthesis, lights and mechanical devices. He is also known for his experimental approach to prepared electric guitar. He has performed extensively across Latin America, Europe, North America and Japan, and has collaborated with artists such as Violeta García, YOTO, Genosidra, Jorge Espinal, Shayna Dunkelman, Chris Pitsiokos and Heiner Goebbels. Javier is the founder of the RUIDO experimental music series and he coordinated the Sound Arts Center (CASo) between 2021 and 2024.
