Javan Hunt Javan Hunt Freeport Born on Grand Bahama Island, Javan Hunt began singing at an early age in his church’s choir. He fell in love with performing and went on to explore his gift of song throughout his formative years and early adulthood. He matriculated at the University of The Bahamas pursuing courses in Marketing; he then continued his education at Florida International University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business. While in Florida, Javan frequently performed at local shows and in small competitions. Since returning to The Bahamas 14 years ago, Javan has made a name for himself locally. He has performed for The Regency Theatre in adaptations of Broadway hits and classics including “Music Man”, “Ain’t Misbehaving”, “Raisin in the Sun”, Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Fame” and “The Lion King”. Javan is in high demand for private functions such as weddings, funerals, parties and gala events.He has collaborated with other artists to provide backup vocals and hooks, served as an entertainer at a local hotel and also as a karaoke host. He is currently the Lead Singer of Uppercut, a local band which primarily covers music. Uppercut performs monthly at The Dive In Marina Bar & Restaurant at UNEXSO in Grand Bahama and at private functions and parties. In addition to being blessed with range and abilities in voice manipulation, Javan is an avid song writer, having co-written “Broken Pieces” with Donvarcia Duncombe as well as "Crossroads", "Just Dance" and "I want your love" for his uocoming debut EP. Additionally, he writes and performs inspirational, positive and uplifting lyrics to a variety of rhythms (including R&B, Jazz, Rock and more). Javan has been called a story teller, he uses lyrics and melodies to deliver vivid stories and paint lasting images for his listeners.
