Our latest Podcast chapter comes in the form of a mesmerising all-vinyl set by the Spanish duo Binomi, interweaving experimental, psychedelic and avant-garde ambient music from across the decades with personal field recordings. Recorded live at the Hangar in Barcelona as part of the 2023 edition of Mostra, it is a dreamy two-hour sound adventure sprinkled thorough with the dusty film of gentle record crackles and pensive undertone.

"How to translate a friendship of more than 10 years into a mix? After a long coexistence, the pandemic represents a hiatus in our musical relationship. Mostra23 is the perfect excuse and the best stage to resume it. A new sound has emerged in us, complicity, laughter, and goosebumps confirm it. The set configured with 3 turntables and accompanied by field recordings made in Australia and Tasmania form a soundtrack of shared sensations across the distance. Through genres, we define our experiences; new age, drone, experimental or avant-garde music, minimalism, and psychedelia can be its labels. Who knows, we just hope it transports you to places as distant or as close as those it evokes for us. It has been a real pleasure."

Binomi are Jordi Aparicio and Joan Gila, both from Tarragona, Spain. Avid collectors of records, their search for sound brought them together in Barcelona more than a decade ago.
