Hey everyone! Guess what? It's my birthday, and I'm turning 16! So, to celebrate, I've decided to drop this song (downloads enabled), which is quite special as it has a unique story of its own. As for the cover art, can't say the same since I speedran making it in like an hour or two.
I made this song, which is the only one I finished out of the 3 that I began working on, for SILKENWOOD's "Mad Hatter Vol. 1" event. Each participant received a prompt that would serve as a challenge during their production of their song. My challenge was to do it with no EQ.
My workaround was a filter and a frequency splitter, but I was told by another person that it was a type of EQ, which would disqualify me. Turns out, I wasn't out yet, as they sought the producer being in a new production process and flow, not necessarily an incredibly perfect 1:1 accurate following of the prompt. So, I finished the song after that and submitted it since I liked it so much, but I got rejected.
Regardless, with that challenge, I feel like I truly discovered how much I truly took for granted production tools that truly help me when I use them. To get to this song being made was not so easy. 2 scrapped mediocre IDs came before this one, but in the end, the song got complete, so here I am weeks later to drop it on my birthday. I had the plan to save it for Valentine's Day, but I got impatient.
As I write this, it's 4AM, so the schoolday hasn't even begun. I haven't slept yet, so I will go do that and then try to have the best birthday ever! Take care everyone, stay safe, be kind, spread love and remember: never give up.
