Incorporeal Apparatus

Incorporeal Apparatus is the long-running electronic project of New York–born, Lisbon-based artist and DJ Angel Jonsson-Laboy. With over two decades behind the decks and in the studio, Angel’s sound lives where trance, aggrotech, gabber, EBM, and tech trance overlap—deep four-on-the-floor pulses, flowing synths, and an undercurrent that feels both mechanical and spiritual.

With a background in computer programming, Angel leans into the intersection of technology, spirituality, and futurism: dance music that feels coded as much as composed. Sets move from hypnotic progressions to harder edges, stitched with obscure, iconic, and avant-garde samples, always tuned to the room in front of them.

The upcoming track “Found in the Forest” (out September 19, 2025) pushes that vision further: trance and progressive psytrance threaded with cinematic haze and glitchy textures, like a ritual happening somewhere between roots and circuitry. It follows their recent single “Salubrious,” another step in an evolving relationship with hard trance and high-intensity rhythm.

Whether on air—like their Beatstreet Radio DJ show—or in a darkened club, Incorporeal Apparatus invites listeners into an ambient trance state for seekers: primal frequencies, digital signals, and a steady beat to move through it all.
