David Rakowski: Prelude #64 "Sepia" (2016) by Holly Roadfeldt, pianist published on 2021-02-01T17:34:15Z If you know Davy Rakowski at all, you know that he is an incredibly prolific composer. After writing 100 études, 100 préludes, and more (!) for solo piano, there are still a few pieces that have not been premiered. This is one of them. I am thrilled that I can share this with you. Please share freely! This prélude was supposed to be premiered on March 13, 2020 on my recital to open the Muhlenberg Contemporary Music Festival. I decided to record part of my program on January 30th, 2021 since we are still unsure when a live performance will be possible. This is a performance recording (single take, no edits) and it was recorded by Kirk O'Riordan at Lafayette College on one of my favorite Steinways. Genre Classical
