Now the label boss is teaming up with Italian producer Tuccillo for a new project under the name Doublet with this 3 track EP being the first offering from the pair. The ‘Tee’s 5 EP’ was recorded in Tuccillo’s studio in Ibiza over this winter where the pair have been getting to grips with forging their sound. The package kicks off with the title track, a bass driven old school house workout that is a surefire dancefloor winner with its incessant B-line and rolling percussion. Dark edged synths and high strings bring the mix to a climax whilst the non-stop groove from that super hooky bass continues on without pause, quality stuff. The second of the three cuts on the vinyl comes in the shape of ‘Tamago’, a track that sees the pair settle into deep house territory with classic organ stabs, subtle sax stabs and understated vocal edits. To complete the single we have the excellent ‘Soft Joint’ that marries deep house aesthetics with a rolling breakbeat to create a unique feel. As a bonus Tomoki offers up his ‘T2’s DJ Tool’ mix of ‘Tee’s 5’ providing a stripped mixing tool to compliment the original.
