Podcasts recorded at LGBT Activism in Ireland, 1973-2023: Looking Back, Going Forward.
The project comprised of two workshops which were organised by Mary McAuliffe (Director, UCD Gender Studies), in partnership with the National LGBT Federation (NXF), and funded by Research Ireland New Foundations award.
Workshop 1: History of LGBT Activism in Ireland took place on April 3rd 2025 in UCD Humanities Institute.
Panel 1: The Early Years of LGBT Activism (1970s-1990s) featured:

Ger Moane (Psychologist, writer, feminist and queer activist)
Ailbhe Smyth (Feminist & LGBT activist)

Patricia Prendiville (activist and advocate formerly of ILGA-Europe).
The discussion was facilitated by Mary McAuliffe (Historian, Director, UCD Gender Studies).
Panel 2: Writing our Histories, featured:
Páraic Kerrigan (UCD), Sonja Tiernan (Irish Humanities Alliance) Orla Egan (Cork LGBT Archive) Sara Phillips (Irish Trans Archive). The panel was chaired by Morgan Wait from UCD.
Panel 3 was a Roundtable Discussion on Documenting the Movement: Queer Histories, Public and Personal Archives, Collective Memory.
