Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, a weekly mix series showcasing incredible and amazing artists from around the world. For the 48th edition, we bring you a mix from No-wave and Electroclash pioneers, Chicks on Speed.

Chicks on Speed are poly artists who spend their time working within and in between the realms of Pop Music, Art and Science. The group was founded in Munich in 1997 by Melissa E. Logan and Alex Murray-Leslie. Gaining cult status throughout the 200s as a catalyst of the music genre Electroclash, the now collaborative system of rotating members that is Chicks on speed has always been at the forefront of the feminist art movement.

For their HER Transmission, they have compiled this playlist and left the following note attached to the Transmission.

“We thank the friends, family and collaborators involved in the process. Spread the music - like the rings in a tree all times and generations have their particular sounds. What might sound unusual today will be integrated into the norm within a ___(my dad used to say it took 12 years for this avant-garde to become the normalized or even main-stream, I know it is much faster in our accelerationist times. Making challenging art, not the polished up, to fit into the now. Perhaps sometimes bubblegum, but hay, it is not just for today, it can seep into tomorrow because bubblegum is a curved, multiverse stretch.”
