Our 24th installment of the HER Transmission series sees a return to Taipei, Taiwan to get to know the incredible local DJ and producer, Sonia Calico.

Sonia Calico was born and raised in Taipei and has been at the forefront of the city's dance and electronic music scene for a number of years. With ears designed to seek and hunt down music that has a creative, fun, and unique groove to it, Sonia always strives to find new music and is never constrained by genres, which is evident across her musical catalog.

Since going solo, Calico has unleashed an edgier sound, influenced by Juke, Chill Trap, Bass, Hip Hop, and the Amen Break. Calico has released music for the Chinese Label Do Hits and San Francisco label Multi Music. She also formed the collectives UnderU and Beatmakers, Taipei.
