Happy Friday and happy 20th installment of the HER 他 Transmission mix series! One of the ideas we have tried to explore with this series is celebrating both local and international artists while giving a platform to so many artists and people that we enjoy, love, and want to celebrate. So for the 20th Transmission, we’re happy to share this mix by Naarm/ Melbourne DJ and Producer, Thao.

Under her DJ moniker, BB BAN GAS, and producer alias THU Care, Thao weaves her stories across multiple genres spanning from RnB and Hip- Hop to World Music and Field Recordings, using sounds formed from her daily life as part of a broader community and family. As a non-Black person, Thao wishes to acknowledge and pay respects to Black culture, Black Music, and its roots in slavery.

Please enjoy this mix that crosses over between her DJ work as BB BAN GAS and the more experimental world/ambient fusion work of Thu Care.
