After spending 3 intense weeks in the hidden village of the African rain forest, the little witch sensed it was time to head back to her own forest in Northwestern Europe. The next morning, the girl kissed goodbye to her fiancé and her parents-in-law and gave a tender hug to the 8 witch apprentices, after which she flew back into North/Northwestern direction over the vast rain forest. At least, that was her original flight plan, but she soon veered off course and her inner compass told her to head towards the North-East. It was a long and breathtaking flight over towering mountains, green valleys and immense lakes, before heading towards dryish highlands with spectacular rock formations. It was at that point that the girl sensed she had reached her destination and she gently touched down at the foot of a giant tree. Two tribal girls saw her land and ran towards her. Despite the fact that they had never seen a white person before, the girls instinctively trusted the little witch and gave her a warm welcome hug, before taking her to their village. The witch immediately felt at ease, despite the fact that she was surrounded by humans. But these were no ordinary humans as they were ‘primitive’ tribal people with a deep bond with mother earth, which goes back to the cradle of mankind. Actually, this place is the Omo valley in Southwestern Ethiopia, where the oldest fossils of homo sapiens have been found, a staggering 195.000 years old. So the people of this valley never forgot where they came from and live in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature.
The little witch felt so much at ease with the tribespeople, that she decided to dress in the same way. So she swapped her immaculately white European dress for a beautiful African loincloth. The tribal people looked in amazement at the little witch, and the children were giggling when looking at her pale-white skin, mesmerizing green eyes, pink nipples and they couldn’t stop touching and caressing her long brown hair (the hairs of a young witch are of an unbelievable softness). But also the tribespeople looked really special, with the women wearing ornamental disks in their pierced ear lobes. Their pitch-black skin was in complete contrast with the witch’s milk-white skin. Actually, the tribals were getting ready for a celebration, painting each other’s faces and bodies in beautiful natural earth colors and decorating their heads and bodies with colorful flowers. Also the little witch’s skin got painted by an elderly woman. There were no mirrors in the village, so the girl never got to see her own painted face, but judging from the reaction of the villagers, the combination of the colors with her white skin and bright green eyes seemed to be absolutely breathtaking.
The celebration took place that evening around a bonfire and the tribespeople sang age-old songs and performed ancient dance rituals, strengthening their connection with mother earth to a new level…
