today i want to share with you a special piece, in which i finally found the perfect time for,
10 years ago, Jaar’s first record came out; words cannot describe the influence & inspiration it had on me. hearing it back in 2011 was an ‘ear-opener’ when i was simultaneously discovering the labels & sounds such as Diynamic, Hot Creations, Cajual, Off Recordings, and Get Physical. it challenged my ears, it was different and purely unique.
so it left me thinking, what is this? what am i hearing? i did not entirely understand it at first, part was too weird. but as i kept discovering sounds, listening to music, coming back to the album after years, i was blown away, and finally understood the genius behind the productions.
thanks to this record, and to Jaar, the limits to hearing sound was pushed & challenged. i have been following the artists work religiously since that point of time.

2hrs 22minutes of my interpretation of Jaar’s decade of work (10 years of Jaar). compiling the artists abundant hours of work was a challenge to accumulate in 2 hours. yet all his projects and aliases are used; originals, remixes and live set edits/cuts.
projects and aliases used are from All Against Logic, Daftside, and Darkside (the ingenious collaboration with Dave Harrington).
remixes are from some of musics big names and legends, the likes of Daft Punk, Grizzly Bear, Maceo Plex, Michael Jackson, Mulatu Astatke, Nina Simone, and Wendy Rene.
this is a dynamic and improvised mix. it is not meant to be perfect. therefore, enjoy the imperfections.
although you may not feel as sentimental & connected to his music, i do hope it will trigger something, or simply enjoy a few minutes of this music ❤︎
