Frasi by gualtierodazzi published on 2013-11-10T22:08:27Z Gualtiero Dazzi Frasi (1993)is a chamber work for Soprano, clarinet and piano. It can be performed in the same concert of Schubert's Der Hirt auf dem Felsen. It is a commission of Radio France and was first performed in Strasbourg, Festival Musica in october 1995 by Ensemble Accroche Note. Dazzi's work is based on poetical fragments by Edmond Jabès and Giacinto Scelsi. Libretto was established by the composer in accord to make an imaginary dialog between the two poets on time and eternity, love and presence. Darkness generates darkness. Darkness rises up against darkness. Edmond Jabès, L'auberge du sommeil If one understands eternity not as an infinite temporal duration but rather as timelessness, then he who lives in the present lives in eternity. L. Wittgenstein, Tractatus logico-philosophicus A world to gain, perhaps, that is inside me - a world, but not me. And nothing to lose, only our illusions, only the crazy maze of our dreams. The truth is an open sky. Narcissus is a fool, Icarus flies away. Andr‚ Comte-Sponville, Le mythe d'Icare Gualtiero DAZZI Frasi The texts of the lieder (E.J. = Edmond Jabès, G.S. = Giacinto Scelsi) 1.
