Call You Absolutely Not by GovernorSilver published on 2014-08-05T03:45:37Z Gareth is one of my ambient music heroes. Hear his work here: https://soundcloud.com/carbonates-on-mars. This is a response to Gareth's challenge: 1. Take a naff song. 2. Choose a 20 second segment of it. 3. Paste it into iDensity. 4. Slide the Time Scanning slider down to anywhere between 150 and 250. 5. Adjust the Pitch slider, taking it down is best for scaping. 6. Slide the Grain Density and the Grain Length all the way up. 7. Adjust the random sliders to suit your taste. 8. Select a suitable grain waveform. Adjust other settings to suit your own taste i.e Echo, Ring Modulation etc. 9. Record this as you normally would. (I prefer to record into iDensity then paste into AudioShare) 10. Run the result through your favourite effects in AudioBus. My favourites are the AUFX apps, GliderVerb, Crystalline and Stereo Designer. And that's it. Have a go and post your results here I used iDensity through AUFX:Dub, with the "Old Cassette" preset loaded and delay time tweaked Uploaded with AudioShare app - http://kymatica.com/audioshare Genre Ambient Comment by Schprocket No. Way. This had just slithered out a sinewy arm and dragged itself into my mind, taking it on the trippiest of journeys.... :) 2014-08-05T12:07:16Z
